AmeriCorps has been referred to as "America’s best kept secret."

But now, we face a very real possibility of a future without it.

We can’t let that happen.

This summer, we need your help reminding our fellow citizens and elected officials that AmeriCorps is America at its best.

AmeriCorps Across America

Over the past 30 years, more than 1.3 million Americans have served through AmeriCorps and hundreds of thousands more have served with AmeriCorps Seniors.

AmeriCorps members and Seniors volunteers serve in more than 35,000 locations, including in schools and community centers, in national forests and national parks, in small towns and our biggest cities.

Every $1 in federal taxes invested in AmeriCorps and Senior Corps returns $17.30 to society, program members, and the federal government. (Voices for National Service, 2020)

AmeriCorps Stories

"Americorps NCCC & FEMACorps changed the trajectory of my life. It’s where I learned that my life’s work was helping people. AmeriCorps led me straight to Title 1 Special Education where I’m now in year ten of my career.

"I think about the experiences, the growth, and, most importantly, the people I met along the way. Some of whom are still some of my best friends. We are forever connected.

"AmeriCorps means the absolute world to me and so many of us."

- Brittany B.

"Before serving, I lacked confidence and direction, struggling to self advocate and unaware of my own potential. I graduated proud of who I am, who I became, and all that I had accomplished, knowing that I could handle any challenge or opportunity that I would be presented with going forward.

"I gained lifelong relationships with people I now see as family, discovered my passion for conservation, and gained full time employment with one of the sponsor organizations I worked with."

- Delaney B.

"AmeriCorps fundamentally shifted the course of my life. Prior to my service I had been in the corporate space for several years working in a field I was not passionate about. I wanted to get into public/civil service but could not find a way into the field before AmeriCorps.

"AmeriCorps opened doors and made connections for me that resulted in me being able to go back to school to get my MBA. That MBA and my AmeriCorps service directly lead to my last several jobs and me moving to Maryland for a state job."

- Gordon H.
